Oceanography
Oceanography is the study of the physical, chemical, biological, and geological processes of the ocean. In this garden, the emphasis is on physical oceanography as a driver of climate variability.
Why it matters for my work
For climatology in the Galapagos, oceanography is inseparable from atmospheric analysis. Variations in currents, upwelling, and sea surface temperature directly shape cloudiness, Garua, and Precipitation.
