Kain-Fritsch scheme
Popular WRF cumulus convection scheme used in many regional model setups.
It uses cudt to define a trigger averaging timescale for vertical velocity.
The scheme is often chosen in coarse-resolution regional simulations because it provides a well-established mass-flux treatment of deep convection and associated rainfall production.
Its behavior should still be checked against target-region precipitation timing and intensity, since convective triggers can strongly influence event realism.
